Hey I'm Ian,

a product designer at Capital One.

In my role I use an iterative user-centered and data-driven process to drive product innovation. Whether its reimagining financial retirement products or prototyping an augmented reality experience to teach people about credit scores, I use this process to bring our customers financial empowerment

I have experience leading the design process on digital projects on both mobile and web platforms. This goes from ambiguous intent to implementation with developers.

Previously I co-founded flagtag. A mobile platform where users capture nearby virtual flags linked to local deals from businesses. There I was the CTO and lead designer.

I graduated from Carnegie Mellon with a double major in Information Systems and Human Computer Interaction.

I love creating and tasting all different kinds of food, no doubt a consequence of me growing up in the Philippines and Singapore. Other things I enjoy include traveling- I can't wait to have a car so I can embark on a great American road trip, and playing guitar- I will also be bringing my little plastic travel six-stringer on this trip.

My goal is to blend the creative and the technical, advancing a beautiful and accessible digital future.
